Building a Social NFT Marketplace

UI/UX and product design for a social NFT marketplace built around community, discovery and wallet-to-wallet swaps.

This project covered the web design and UI/UX for a social NFT marketplace: a trading platform built around community and discovery rather than pure speculation. The brief was to make browsing, collecting and swapping feel social first, with the blockchain mechanics sitting underneath instead of dominating the interface.

What the interface had to solve

  • Discovery. Collections and creators needed to be findable without forcing users through dense market tables.
  • Trust. Ownership, rarity and provenance had to be readable at a glance for people who were not already fluent in wallet tooling.
  • Trading flexibility. The product needed to support currency buys and wallet-to-wallet NFT-for-NFT swaps, which changed how offer flows and confirmation states were designed.

Design grounded in the chain decision

The UI work sat directly on top of our own research into sustainable marketplace architecture. Across late 2021 and early 2022 we compared NFT standards and chains on environmental cost, transaction fees and trading flexibility, and concluded that Solana with the Metaplex framework was the right foundation. That decision shaped loading states, fee messaging and the swap experience as much as the visual system did.
